Case Study

Founded in 1847, The City College of New York (CCNY) has a rich story that eroded due to decades of poor brand management. CCNY’s many departments separately managed their own communications, resulting in disparate brand messaging and design. CCNY needed a single, unifying strategy that would ensure a more current and consistent brand.

Monaco Lange performed a comprehensive brand audit and found that the web offered CCNY the greatest opportunity for a unified branded communications platform.

Working closely with the college, we re-created the website from the ground up — restructuring, redesigning and integrating the entire site into a robust content management system. The new site ensured a consistent visual brand, while it empowered the entire college community to maintain and publish content. We extended the brand strategy into email marketing and offline collateral. The new CCNY website has become a model for their sister schools within the CUNY system.
